This cream is a rich moisturizing cream, but not heavy or greasy. It contains several "levels" of Hyaluronic: Hyaluronic Acid itself; D-glucuronic Acid, which is a precursor to Hyaluronic Acid and works synergistically with it to further intensify the hydration; and cassia beta-glycan which is a Hyaluronic plant and has been shown to increase moisturization by 300 %. This is an ideal night or day cream for dry skin, and can be used on the neck, around the eyes. More and more research is showing the benefits of Hyaluronic Acid in wound healing also. This is an ingredient that has been around for a while, but its benefits to the skin are becoming better understood. The primary structure of the dermis is collagen and elastin, in a matrix that has glycoproteins, glycosaminoglycans and water. Hyaluronic Acid is thought to be "the" principal water-regulating molecule in this matrix. It can bind up to 6,000 times its weight in water.
